A Touch of Class - Luxury Brands Ladies Consignment Boutique
Touch of Class Boutique is an upscale women's clothing boutique that specializes in women's and girl's clothing, as well as costume jewelry, unique belts, shoes and accessories, and limited home decorations just to name a few. ATOCs many selections, and exclusive personal style services which include a detailed "style assessment," will ensure that customers are well dressed prior to leaving the store. We recently sat down with ATOC owner Yolanda Castillo to learn more about her business.
1. Tell me a little bit about your business? What makes it unique?
ATOC is an upscale ladies consignment boutique offering quality new and gently used women's apparel and accessories for all occasions. You'll find formal, career, and casual wear from popular department store brands and high-end designers.
ATOC was created by Brighter Outlooks Inc. Its mission is to lead, mobilize and engage residents via a pro-bono service that drives social change. Brighter Outlooks Inc. is committed to encouraging individuals everywhere to help others through community service and by supporting community-focused charities that serve the overlooked needs of those who cannot reach out for support due to difficult times.
Brighter Outlooks Inc. partners with organizations supporting issues such as military families, teen pregnancy, domestic/sexual violence, homelessness, and individuals affected by chronic pain. Specific projects and programs addressing health, education and social service needs are our top priority. Brighter Outlooks recognizes the value of new programs created to respond to changing needs and will consider fundraising projects presented by new community or existing organizations. Brighter Outlooks also provides a forum for dialogue and awareness-building about how we can alleviate the burdens that sexism perpetuates. Proceeds from ATOC events and purchases go toward helping Brighter Outlooks Inc. achieve its goals.
2. How does consignment work?
Consigning with A Touch of Class Boutique is simple; you will wonder why you hadn’t consigned before now! We really appreciate our consignors and strive to create an environment which makes it as easy and stress free as possible. Items are accepted for consignment Monday – Saturday. Be sure to call and make an appointment prior to stopping in to give staff the ability to prepare for the meeting. During the meeting, staff will go through items and let you know what the store is accepting and which items the store is unable to take in. In order to set up an account, you must provide the store with a minimum of 5 items (exceptions contingent upon circumstance where less than 5 items are given to the store is possible). Additionally, the store can take in a maximum of 30 items at a time. Clothing should be in great condition and freshly laundered and pressed. Clothing should be brought in one of two ways: on hangers, or folded in a paper boutique shopping bag or plastic storage tub.
Consignment is split 40/60 (40% going to the consignor and 60% is retained by A Touch of Class Boutique). Items not sold after three months will be reduced at a “price to sell.” Unsold items will be donated to goodwill.
3. Why did you choose to locate in Lake Forest?
I was born and raised in Southern California and eventually moved to Georgia for 14 years. While in Georgia, I started a foundation focused on helping low income and disadvantaged families. I ultimately decided to open up a consignment center in Orange County to encourage individuals everywhere to lend a helping hand through community-focused services to those whose needs often go overlooked because of their inability to reach out and ask for help.
